Can anybody recommend a inexpensive and reliable way to sweep for bugs and hidden cameras?

Baron Von Svele asked:

If I was to sweep a apartment for survailance equimptment, how would I as an amateur most easily go about making sure this apartment is hidden bug/camera free? Can anybody recomend a good method or product?
(I’m not paranoid… This is a serious question, And serious answers are welcome)

Do you think you are being watched?

There is no good way to be bug proof. There are too many different products that work on different frequencies and different methods to prevent/detect them all. Also there is no cheep way to be sure either, any product that I could recommend as a low level is going to be at least $100 and that might only pickup the cheapest stuff around.

If you really want to have a private conversation that no one else can listen in on you’ll need to go somewhere very public and whisper in someones ear.

    Sorry there isn’t anything better.

Not even the CIA can reliably detect ALL types of bugs. They actually never try. If is cheaper, but not remotely cheap, to construct a room that can’t be bugged by any known means.

Equipment is available to sweep your home or buisness any time you want. It will find the bug or wiretap IF IT IS TRANSMITTING. If it is not at the time, it won’t. Also… nothing except a search will turn up a tiny recorder that doesn’t transmit.
