Hidden Web Cameras

Web cameras can be designed to be very small and placed in hidden locations. The images captured by such Hidden Web Cameras can then be seen over the internet. The images can also be recorded in streaming video formats and played back over and over again.

The primary purpose of Hidden Web Cameras was security. Covert web cameras installed in shops and other establishments can record all activity in their field of vision. They are especially useful after closing times when security may be lax. Detective agencies and police departments install Hidden Web Cameras in suspicious places and monitor the happenings in those areas. Several criminals have been nabbed and undesirable activities have been thwarted using such Hidden Web Cameras. People also install Hidden Web Cameras in their houses to monitor the activities of their children’s nannies and nurses for the elderly.

However, Hidden Web Cameras are being used extensively for pornographic purposes. Tiny web cameras are installed in locations such as hotel bedrooms, public restrooms and even commodes and urinals. Images captured by these web cameras are uploaded to **** sites, which may even require registration. This activity is increasing at an alarming rate and is a serious invasion of an individual’s privacy. Due to this, the use of Hidden Web Cameras is getting a controversial hue. In some states there is prohibition on use of web cameras in public places, whereas some fundamentalist countries are on the verge of entirely banning the use of Hidden Web Cameras.

Web cameras can be made as small as desired. Some of them are no bigger than a button. They can very well be fitted on the shirt of a person and used without wires. There are innumerable deceptions to disguise web cameras. Lots of merchandise has been designed, which outwardly serves another purpose but may actually be a Hidden Web Camera. The more deceptive the web camera, the higher its cost.

Web cameras used for investigative purposes need to have better focusing abilities and a better frame rate. They also have zoom in and out features along with color adjustment. Their prices may range from $100 to $1000 or even higher, depending on how masterful their design is and how good their quality is. Cheap versions are also available, which are mostly used for illegal pornographic purposes.

Policing Garbage with Hidden Spy Cameras

You arrive home. You open your mailbox, reach inside and remove a mishmash of envelopes, fliers and periodicals. After turning the key to your front door, you walk inside your house, sifting through the mail as you do so. There is a letter from your aunt Gertrude in Saskatchewan. There is a newsletter from your Book-of-the-Month Club. There is also an ad for a hybrid espresso machine-vacuum cleaner appliance. Suddenly, one of the envelopes – from the local county council – catches your eye. Using a letter opener, you slice open the envelope and remove the paper contained inside. You read it, and then gasp in amazement. You are to pay a fine of $2,000 U.S. dollars! Your crime: putting out your garbage bin at the wrong time. Does this sound impossible?

Not at all. Today, a local government in England is using a special hidden spy camera to catch offenders of the new garbage collection rule.

Seeing-eye Bags

An interesting development in the realm of hidden spy cameras has sprung up in the U.K. In one county, local councils are using the cameras to control when and where people put their garbage outside, for collection. One county has purchased a hidden spy camera costing thousands of U.S. dollars. This hidden spy camera can be placed in a garbage bag sitting in an alley. The camera will then spot homeowners who put out their garbage too late or too early. It will also catch residents who place their garbage in a nearby alley, instead of alongside the street in front of their homes. The main concern is that uncollected garbage will attract all kinds of annoying bugs. Local officials also hope that the hidden spy cameras will not only catch “envirocrime” culprits, but also drug dealers, graffiti artists, and illegal garbage dumpers–referred to as fly-tippers.

Copters for Coppers

Not to be outdone by county councilmen, the British police have a new weapon to fight crime. Meet the Microdrone! Measuring just two feet from rotor blade to rotor blade, this remote-controlled helicopter contains a hidden spy camera. How does it work? Along with two landing skis and the rotors, four short, thick arms carry a hidden spy camera. After flying above crime scenes, the Microdrone transmits its recordings to bobbies, or police officers, on land.

Some citizens are already uneasy about the prevalence of hidden spy cameras in the U.K. However, local U.K police authorities argue that the public generally supports the cameras, as these provide them a “feeling of safety.” They hope that the new machine will complement their CCTV patrol vans and manned helicopters.

Be Like Bobby

According to a 1998-2000 United Nations study, the U.K. ranked sixth in the world in terms of least crimes per 1,000 people. Such outstanding results show that using hidden spy cameras in your own home could help in your personal mission of crime prevention. The first step in preventing a burglary in your home is to secure all entry points with locks, and preferably, deadbolts. Entry points to consider include the:
* front door

* garage door

* gate

* guest house door

* patio door

* rear door

* service door

* sliding glass door

* swimming pool gate

While the costs alone would make it difficult to place a hidden spy camera at every entry point, it would certainly be wise to place one at the front and back doors.

In countries such as the U.K, the hidden spy camera has changed the way law enforcement is done. Though your occupation might not put you on “the beat,” using such cameras can help to keep dodgy blokes off the streets and behind bars!

Nanny Cameras – Various Kinds to Choose From

With so many different kinds of spy cameras and micro spy nanny cams to choose from, it can be a bit daunting to actually distinguish one nanny cam from another. So, in the service of public interest and safety, here’s a simple list that you can follow of all the various types of spy cameras which are on the market today.
Hidden Spy Nanny Cams

These are the most common types of spy cameras the people are usually looking for. Usually disguised like a simple everyday household or office item like a pen holder or a desktop calculator, hidden spy nanny cams usually have the camera lens (and sometimes the receiving device as well) built right into the item itself. Nobody will ever figure out that there’s an advanced nanny cam in the room watching and monitoring every move that’s taking place.
Internet IP Spy Nanny Cams

Internet IP spy nanny cams hook up to any computer – either desktop or laptop – and can transmit video images directly to your computer screen. What makes these types of nanny cameras so effective is that people can enjoy and experience peace of mind no matter where they are and no matter what they’re doing. In fact, there are internet IP spy nanny cams that are so powerful, they can transmit video surveillance to any computer – no matter where it is in the world.
Self-Contained Spy Cams

Much like hidden spy nanny cams, self-contained spy cams are nanny cameras which are contained or kept inside other objects. However, what makes self-contained spy cams so beneficial is that, for the most part, they do not require a VHS or other video recording device separate from the camera itself. Everything that’s needed for safe and reliable camera operation and recording is built directly into the unit itself – giving you a high-tech camera that blends into any home or office locale.
Wireless Spy Cams

With more and more electronic items becoming wireless, it was only a matter of time before spy cameras took their rightful place in the wireless parade. Wireless spy cams are incredibly easy to set-up and use, thus mitigating the overriding factor as to why people avoid purchasing wireless spy cams in the first place. And because wireless spy cams don’t have any wires, cords or cables to worry about, you can rest assured knowing that they’ll always be hiding in plain sight and always be on guard without anyone ever detecting them.
Micro Spy Nanny Cams

The smallest of the small, micro spy nanny cams takes big camera technology and puts it inside the smallest possible disguise. Usually, the lens of a micro spy nanny cam is no bigger than a pinhole, and the camera itself is but only a few millimeters across in size. However, these tiny spy cameras pack a big punch, as they usually possess an incredible viewing area that catches everything that’s taking place.
Body Worn Spy Nanny Cams

For covert recording and surveillance in a public or outdoor setting, nothing compares to the quality and reliability that body worn spy nanny cams can provide. These are cameras that you can take with you for all your spying needs, but they aren’t bulky and they won’t compromise your mission or your objective. Whether the camera is hidden in a stick of gum, or in an everyday looking pair of sunglasses, body worn spy nanny cams take your spying activities to the street.
CCTV & Bullet Spy Nanny Cams

For maximum protection and security for the home or office, many people turn towards CCTV & bullet spy nanny cams. These are tough, strong and durable nanny cameras that work in any weather or environmental condition. Full-color cameras which are capable of recording both during the day or night, CCTV & bullet spy nanny cams are perfect for those looking for the ultimate in home or office safety.

Hidden Spy Cams and Your Childcare Provider – Should You Use One and How?

A hidden camera is one discreet way to assuage and alleviate concerns around your home. Parents find them especially helpful when it comes to keeping an eye on the person watching their children. But are hidden spy cams fair to those who are being watched? Do nannies have a right to know if they are being recorded?

There are many compelling arguments in favor of using a hidden spy cam to record your child’s caregiver. Few would disagree that the safety of a child comes first. However, is it really ethical to hide a small camera in order to spy on your nanny doing her job? Safety surveillance is not a black and white issue. Both parents and nannies have rights.

If you want to use a hidden camera to obtain video footage of your nanny at work, the best thing to do is tell her. A professional most likely won’t have a problem, as long you ask for her permission. Spy cams are extremely covert — it could be a teddy bear or in a house plant. You have the benefits of a hidden camera without the risk of losing a good nanny, should she find out and become upset about the use of spying.

A recent Arizona Central article raised an important point — while a parent is well within their rights to want to use a hidden spy camera to view their nanny, cameras shouldn’t replace thorough interviews and a background check. Even a good caregiver might regard the use of hidden cameras as an invasion of privacy. While you aren’t legally bound to inform your nanny, a spy camera could create a difficult situation.

Why Do I Need a Dummy Camera?

First of all, what is a Dummy Camera? A Dummy Camera, often called a Fake Camera, looks just like a real surveillance system camera that you would see in any store, warehouse and even on the outside of houses.

However, they don’t record any video so what good are they?

Well, here are a few ideas as to how a Dummy Camera can help you:

Since Dummy Cameras look just like a real surveillance system camera, you can’t tell the difference between the Dummy Camera and the Real McCoy. And guess what — neither can the bad guys.

Dummy Cameras are deterrents to criminals. The first thing that bad guys look for is a surveillance system. They’ll be convinced that your area is being electronically monitored and they don’t want to take the chance that “Big Brother” is watching them — so they’ll move on to easier targets.

A real surveillance system is expensive and can cost you a lot of money to set up. Dummy Cameras are inexpensive and therefore are cost effective and as well as easy to install.

And don’t forget, Dummy Cameras are battery operated, so they’ll keep working even if the electricity goes out.

Dummy Cameras stand alone — they’re not wired to another system, so they are portable and can easily be moved.

It’s a good idea to make it easier for criminals to see you have video protection. Put a sign underneath the Dummy Camera saying, “Warning: CCTV” or “This store is video monitored 24/7 — Shoplifters will be prosecuted”.

Did you know that many Dummy Cameras come with LED flashing lights, motion detectors, and some even have an alarm with pre-recorded verbal warnings such as “Intruder alert — vacate immediately”, which sounds as soon as a person passes the restricted area.

Many Dummy Cameras are weatherproof and designed to be used outside. Some will pan back and forth for 30 seconds every 2 1/2 minutes. A red LED light on the front will flash continuously which adds to the Dummy Camera’s realism.

Just a suggestion — if a criminal sees a Dome Dummy Camera on the ceiling, he won’t know in which direction the camera is pointing. That means you can save a lot of money by placing just one Dome Dummy Camera in the middle of your store or warehouse to show that the entire room is under surveillance. A potential shoplifter would have to be pretty desperate if he were to see a camera aimed directly at him.

DON’T BE THE NEXT VICTIM! If you are on a tight budget but still need a way to deter shoplifting, inventory theft, or to just keep people away from your used car lot, then a Dummy Camera could be the answer for you!

Even a Webcam Can Function Like a Hidden Spy Cam

You don’t have to use advanced gadgets to have your own hidden spy cam at home or at work. It may come as a surprise that an ordinary webcam can be a very potent tool to monitor your family, friends, or colleagues.

Get A Decent Webcam

The first thing to do is to get a webcam. Depending on the price, webcams are bundled with various features. Since you would be using it as a hidden spy cam, get the smallest webcam that you can afford. This way, it would easier to hide them in objects, or inside the walls and corners of your home or office. Also, check if it is able to work with your computer or laptop. Camera specs are usually printed on the box. It is a good habit to read these specifications before purchasing the device.

Use The Latest Drivers

Drivers are software that your computer uses to recognize and operate the hardware that you connect to it. That is why you have to be sure that your camera has the latest set of drivers. These drivers are updated regularly, so it is good practice to download the latest set every 6 months, or whenever they’re available. Up-to-date drivers include bug fixes and added functionalities to make your webcam work better.

Connect To The Web

An Internet connection is needed for your security system at home or work. Although each channel is an independent hidden spy cam by itself, you may need to view simultaneous channels to monitor other areas. Use an encoding software to convert images so that your browser or software can display them on your central computer. You may have to ask help from an expert in this case. However, most software are already embedded with codecs that automatically convert the video for you.

Plug And Play

If you want to use a webcam as a hidden spy cam, get ones with USB connectivity. Still, most electronic devices today have USB, so this is not really a major concern. Gone are the days of hooking up devices via parallel ports. Whether your webcams are wireless or not, they will always connect through USB.

Hide Your Webcams Well

Concealing your cameras in the most obvious places results in a very ineffective monitoring system. If your webcams are really small, hide them behind pinholes on the cubicles of your employees. At home, you can even hide your spy cam in plants! Maximize the field of vision by putting your cameras in high places. It is good to put your webcams in the corners or edges of rooms. This way, you would know for sure if an employee is really dozing off at work or not.

A spy cam can really work wonders for your monitoring system. However, you should not violate the privacy of others. Never spy on places that call for privacy. This means that cameras should not be found in restrooms or bathrooms. If you plan to put a hidden spy cam in the rooms of your children, respect their privacy and get their consent first.
