Hidden Camera – Make Sure It Is Hidden

For some, the reasons behind installing a hidden spy camera are very serious. When this is the case, it may not be enough that the camera is cleverly disguised as a pen, or button, or alarm clock. A large number of spy cameras are not simply camouflaged, they are hidden.

A hidden spy camera exists that is the size of a 9V battery. Another is slightly larger than a dime, and records in color and with audio. However, you should note that if you chose to record audio, you will have to let those being recorded know that they are being recorded. It is against Federal law to record hidden audio. It can be placed inside a smoke detector, or behind ceiling tiles. When getting caught is not an option, the spy camera that can be hidden offers more peace of mind than the camera that is well disguised, but sits right out in the open. The only downfall to the hidden spy camera is the installation, but most are easy enough for the average consumer to install.

A hidden spy camera could also be installed behind a painting or sign, inside a light-bulb, speaker, radio, DVD player, clock, electrical box, plant, etc. You can purchase a hidden spy camera separately, and then either install it, or have it installed. Alternatively, you can purchase this type of spy camera in a style that is already cleverly hidden inside one of these things or working devices.

A nanny that is up to no good might be suspicious of a teddy bear that sits out in front of the nursery. After all, nanny cams are a hot topic in Suburban America. However, she will probably not be suspicious of the pinhole camera shrewdly hidden away in the nursery’s working smoke detector, especially if you replace all of your smoke detectors with ones hiding spy cameras. Stay one step ahead of real trouble with a cleverly hidden spy camera.

Sometimes you want your surveillance to be known. You probably have little desire to catch a burglar in the act, verses your desire to never become a target. For these uses, it is best to announce your surveillance capabilities, and install both, hidden and visible cameras. However, for those times when you need to know what it going on, and do not want the act to simply be moved to another location, the well spy camera that is well hidden is your best option.

Before deciding which route to take with your surveillance, consider the following: Where will I most likely need to place my hidden spy camera? Who am I going to be spying on most often? Will I be able to supply power to the camera from where I place it? Should I use a wireless device? What will the lighting be like most often in the area that surrounds my camera? Answering these questions will be important to knowing exactly what kind of device you should purchase, and, whether or not it should even be hidden.
