Home Security Camera System – Which One is the Best?

When deciding on a home security camera system, a lot of consideration must be taken. After all, camera is just as important as the rest of the components in your security system. With all the many choices to select from, it can be quite difficult to find the best one for your needs though. So how do you go about choosing the right one? It all starts with a good research.

Lens and Form

There are different forms of cameras. While some are shaped like slender bullets, there are also others that are shaped like boxes. Professional box type cameras are often on top of them all. It all really depends on the brand that you choose. You have the option of getting one with multiple adjustable lenses and can have optional weatherproofing for outdoor use. Dome and bullet types can have more limited lens capabilities but they can have some extra features. The CNB V2315NVD for example is a vandal proof dome camera. The Provideo CVC-320WP has infrared capabilities.

Different brands carry different unit forms and even if they came in the same form, they can have different features. Identify what you need in a camera first before make your selection so you are assured that you are getting just the camera that you need. You may want to consider your need for night vision, waterproofing, adjustable lenses and heavy duty casing.

Overt or Covert

Your home security camera system can either be hidden or displayed. The advantage with displaying your surveillance cameras for both guests and intruders to see is that it can deter possible negative actions.

Covert cameras are those that are hidden from sight. Because of its secret nature, it has often earned them the term spy or nanny cameras. These covert cameras mostly come as ball cameras hidden in ordinary household items such as furniture, indoor plants, paintings, etc. These are used to monitor activities inside the house such as nanny activities. However, it can also alert homeowners of break-ins and burglaries.

You wireless home alarm system can include either or both. Cameras, as far as home security is concerned is simply indispensable.

Functional or Not

Investing on cameras can be quite costly and this is the reason why some homeowners choose to pass this component. Instead, they install fake cameras or unconnected units. This is because the sight of fake cameras can be enough to make burglars think twice about breaking in. Keep in mind though that not all burglars are easily fooled by dummy cameras and most likely, those who can tell the difference may take the risk of trespassing. It is best not to take any chances with fake displays.

When it comes to choosing your home security camera system, one cannot afford to make the wrong choice. The above points are just some of the basic considerations should help you make initial decisions about the right camera for your home security needs. You can also get the help of an expert from home security for recommendations. If you cant get over your confusion though, you would be better off asking for expert recommendations from security companies who know home security inside out.

The Best Wireless Security Cameras May Not Even Be a Wireless Security Camera

Lets face it. We are enamored with wireless security cameras and the idea wireless technology in general. We have fallen in love with the thought of being able to simply mount a camera somewhere, put a receiver a couple of rooms away and start monitoring what’s going on without ever leaving our home.

The promise of being able to watch a front or back door, a driveway, an alley, a pool, a nursery, or a supply room in a matter of minutes with common household tools is compelling. In most cases a wireless camera system will provide an adequate solution to these applications. However, if we need to get a little more sophisticated these entry level systems that seem so affordable and simple to install may not be enough.

If you need a crisp, high resolution picture, robust night vision capabilities or transmit over a greater distance then the basic wireless camera kit may not work.

The best wireless security camera solution for these type of applications may not be a packaged system. In some cases it might make sense to use a security camera that is traditionally used in a wired installation in conjunction with a separate transmitter/receiver with much greater capabilities.

There are 2 major advantages of using a separate transmitter/receiver with a conventional wired camera:

1. The selection of surveillance cameras that can be used with the set up is much greater. A camera that fits the exact requirements of the installation can be chosen. For instance, most security cameras that come with a wireless package have only average night vision capabilities. If an application requires greater night vision capabilities a camera with strong night vision capabilities can be selected.

2. A separate transmitter/receiver can transmit over a wireless signal over greater distances. Many installations of wireless cameras require surveillance from more than the 300ft unobstructed maximum that most wireless packages are capable of transmitting. There are transmitter/receivers that have the ability to transmit an unobstructed signal over a half mile.

The increase in cost of purchasing a separate transmitter/receiver and higher performing cameras will be surprisingly lower than expected and the benefits may be the difference maker.

need a cheap security cameras for outdoor use ?

your answers may save hundreds of my uncles pigs.
my uncle if a farmer (as you may have guessed) and he raises hugs, someone in the aria go out at night and poisons the hugs.
he has the barn locked all the time but the guy brakes the locks with a hammer. my uncle also has motion detection light all over the barns but they don’t help because hes not home at night to see them.
so my question is what is the cheapest set up for a security cameras system.
he would prefer a motion detection, night vision, and tamper proof.
